ATHLETES HORIZON COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Effective Date: July 17, 2026
Athletes Horizon exists to help make sports equipment more accessible while creating a safe and respectful community. Everyone using the platform is expected to follow these guidelines.
1. BE RESPECTFUL
Treat donors, requesters, volunteers, administrators, and other community members with respect.
Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, stalking, hateful conduct, discrimination, sexual harassment, or abusive language are not permitted.
2. BE HONEST
Provide accurate information about yourself, your equipment donations, and your equipment requests.
Do not misrepresent an item's condition, size, type, ownership, or availability. Do not impersonate another person.
3. DONATE APPROPRIATE EQUIPMENT
Only submit equipment you have the right to donate.
Do not donate stolen, counterfeit, illegal, recalled, intentionally unsafe, or prohibited items.
Describe used equipment honestly. If an item has damage or significant wear, disclose it.
4. MAKE GENUINE REQUESTS
Equipment requests should reflect a genuine need or intended sports use. Do not submit fraudulent requests, repeatedly abuse the request system, or attempt to obtain equipment through deception.
5. KEEP COMMUNICATION APPROPRIATE
Use Athletes Horizon messaging to coordinate legitimate exchanges and related community activity.
Do not send spam, scams, threats, explicit sexual content, discriminatory content, or repeated unwanted messages.
Do not pressure users to share unnecessary sensitive personal information.
6. PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION
Do not publicly post passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information.
Respect information another participant shares with you. Do not publish, sell, exploit, or misuse another user's personal information.
7. MEET SAFELY
Whenever possible:
• Meet in a public, well-lit location.
• Tell someone you trust where you are going.
• Consider bringing another person.
• Avoid entering a stranger's home.
• Do not continue with a meetup if you feel unsafe.
• Follow any safety guidance shown in the app.
For exchanges involving minors, appropriate parent, guardian, or adult supervision should be used.
8. COMPLETE EXCHANGES HONESTLY
Only mark an exchange complete after the equipment has actually been handed over.
If the app requires both participants to confirm completion, do not pressure the other participant to confirm before the exchange is finished.
9. NO FRAUD OR EXPLOITATION
Do not use Athletes Horizon to scam users, demand improper payments, steal equipment, exploit vulnerable people, or manipulate the matching process.
10. RESPECT ADMINISTRATIVE DECISIONS
Athletes Horizon administrators may review donations, requests, volunteer signups, matches, reports, and community content to help operate the service.
Do not attempt to bypass restrictions, manipulate administrator tools, or repeatedly recreate accounts to evade enforcement.
11. REPORT SAFETY CONCERNS
If you encounter suspicious, abusive, fraudulent, or unsafe behavior, stop the interaction when appropriate and contact Athletes Horizon.
For immediate danger or emergencies, contact local emergency services.
12. ENFORCEMENT
Violations may result in a warning, removal of content, cancellation of an exchange, messaging restrictions, suspension, or account termination depending on severity and circumstances.
Serious safety concerns or suspected illegal conduct may be reported to appropriate authorities when required or permitted by law.
